The Note Lantern
A private reading lamp for plain text. Type Markdown or HTML, and the formatted note appears underneath — headings, lists, links, and emphasis — while you are still writing. The room feels like a sealed vault: calm, close, and only yours.

What the lantern does
Write the way you already write. Markdown gives you headings, lists, emphasis, quotes, and links. HTML gives you the tags themselves. Auto looks at the draft: if it opens as HTML, the lantern treats it as HTML; otherwise it sets the type as Markdown. The box starts four lines tall and grows with you — always three spare rows beyond what you have filled, and it stretches to the width of the screen.
Private by construction
Formatting happens in your browser. The draft is not written to storage, not attached to an account, and not included in any request. This page is not connected to any account or vault. Close the tab and the words leave with it.
The vault version
Inside UnseenDesk, an Encrypted Note is the record for writing you want to keep. You save the body as plain text. You open the record and read the formatted version. Ciphertext is all the cloud holds. The Note Lantern is the same feeling, offered here for a moment, with the door left open if you want a place to put the note.
